The North Salem Winter Track team hit the ground running yesterday as they competed in their 1st meet of the season. From Veterans to first time Freshman walking into the Armory is an experience in and of itself. Although the Armory can be intimidating the team worked so hard in practice which enabled them to face the challenge head on. The hard work and the team's heart, determination, and will to win thrived on Sunday. PR's were set and medals were won. We took our first step towards the mountain that we will climb and conquer this season. Coach Minzloff and Coach Holst are proud of each of every one of the athletes who competed on Sunday.

Boys 4 x 200 Relay - Running together for their first time in competition without the starting lead off leg Jordan Pensabene the 4 x 200 team faced a tough challenge. 8th grader Alex Monaco faced an insurmountable task being placed in the 5th lane. 2nd Leg Eric Quinn had an excellent exchange and was able to make up some of the stagger. Newcomer John Marchese took the baton in the 5th position......when he handed the baton to anchor and leader of the 4 x 200 Conway Brown he was in first. Conway Brown ran an excellent leg and was able to hold on to the first place spot. Excellent job boys!!!
