The story of the freshmen/sophomore meet is one of great determination and spirit. All of the athletes who competed were excited, nervous, and not exactly sure what to expect. Their hard work and determination is what carried them through the night. Although they were nervous, they ran extremely well. What was most impressive, is the fact that each one of them finished all of their races with tremendous kicks. The frosh/soph team is a group of young people with unlimited potential. Take a look at the following keys to a great start: Head down (looking 2 feet in front of you) Back (flat to slight angle) Drive arms (opposite arm opposite leg) Drive knees (power steps at the start) Drive out (not up)
Shawn, Taylor, Noemie, Allison and Emma all made the trip down to the state qualifier on Saturday night. The meet featured the best athletes in all of Section 1. Emma regained her jumping form and just missed 4'6. Shawn, Taylor and Allison provided tremendous support and cheered both of the girls on as they competed.
Noemie had been chasing the 300 meter record since the first race of the season. Before the meet last night she told the coaches on the bus..."I am not leaving here without the record". She gave the race everything she had and was able to crush the school record by a second.
New School Record....Noemie Bechu 300 meters (43.1).
Congratulations to all of the North Salem Athletes on a great season. Coach and I could not be more proud of what you guys have accomplished this season.
